FREESKI is for children who wish to focus on continuing the FUNdamentals of skiing through more exposure to varied terrain and technical challenges on the mountain with their peers in a fun, positive environment. At this level, they need to have a good skiing ability and have completed the Snowstar program or similar. The children ski with the same group and coach throughout the season to allow for positive progression and team development.
| Program Info | The on-hill ski program begins Sunday 8th January, 2012. Children meet in the Cypress Ski Club Cabin (old day lodge). There are sign in sheets with each of the coaches and Den Parents who assist with the group allocations. As with all Nancy Greene Ski League programs, FREESKI offers participants several opportunities to ski in scheduled fun oriented events with children from other mountains. These are scheduled at the start of the season and will be coordinated by the Program Director. Please see schedule below. |
| Summer and Fall Dryland Training | While the on-hill season begins when snow falls, the dryland training season begins in June! Our optional summer and fall dryland sessions help prepare athletes for the season and they are included in the costs of the program! Details will be announced soon. Typically sessions are a weeknight and weekend from June through July. Fall sessions begin again in September through November. |
| Duration | Every Sunday: 8.30am -2.30pm for 14 weeks. 14 Sundays from Sunday 8th Jan 2012 - Sunday 8th April 2012. |
| Extras | There may be opportunities throughout the season to ski some terrain at Whistler or other nearby mountains. The Coach will inform you of these at the start of the season. |
